* *** 2013_OCTOBER_FLOW_CHART_2_COMMENT TXT - 7 Sep 2013 22:03:49 - JKNAUTH Here's one I missed, going all the way back to last year. On Help Table Flow Chart #2, left column, block 3: Is the voter listed as "voted" in the laptop or on the list of absentee voters your precinct received on Election Day? The current wording specifies only the few voters that the BOE reports in the Tuesday morning call to the precinct. However it should also include all the pink list voters. That's why the pink list is at the Help Table. Right? Those voters are not flagged as "Voted" in the laptop, whose database is at exactly the same level as the pollbooks. Unfortunately there is no way to mark pink "A"s on the laptop records on Monday night, so the Help Table people must remember to check the pink list (updated with the Tuesday names called in) in addition to the laptop data. Maybe the flowchart should say something like: Is the voter listed as "voted" in the laptop or in the *UPDATED* pink list of absentee voters. Then in the Help Table Manual specify the details of the Tuesday morning call (or getting the data from the BOE website Monday night) and that the Help Table people need to update the pink list manually with those names and VRNs, then use the updated list in Flow Chart #2. I have a feeling that Help Table people probably have not been doing the (updated) pink list checking. Maybe that should be mentioned in the class. I don't recall it being mentioned in the class today. Jeff
