* *** NEXTDOOR_POSTS_FOR_2023-11-07 TXT - 3 Nov 2023 00:46:15 - JGKNAUTH (Nextdoor post done on 9/29/23 for Precinct 19-19) ======================================================================== Information about the 11/7/23 Election ----------- ----- --- ------- -------- If you are seeing this post, it is likely that you are in Wake County Voting Precinct 19-19 or else are very nearby. Although this post is meant for Precinct 19-19, much of it also applies to adjacent precincts. The Wake Forest and Rolesville municipal elections are less than six weeks away. Early voting starts on 10/19/23. Unfortunately there are no early voting sites near our precinct; the closest (the Wake County Board of Elections Office) is 10 to 15 miles away, depending on where you live in 19-19. You can now request an absentee ballot. Of course the 19-19 polling place at Sanford Creek Elementary School will be open on Election Day, 11/7/23, from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Fortunately this will be a teacher work day, so there will be no "carpool" lines to contend with. We hope to see you there. To vote in a municipal election in our precinct, you must reside within either the Wake Forest or Rolesville corporate limits. Voters in unincorporated areas are *NOT* eligible to vote in municipal elections. A valid photo ID, e.g., an NC driver license, is required for the 11/7/23 election. See https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id. To verify your eligibility to vote in this election, check your voter registration information, which is very easy to do. Instructions are in http://jgkhome.name/WakeBOE/19-19.htm. The registration information lists your polling place and the municipality associated with your registered residence address. (That's the address you carefully update with the BOE whenever you move. Right?!!!) In any event, by Election Day you must have lived at your current residence address for 30 or more days to have that address considered to be your residence address for this election. If you have any questions, you can call the Wake County Board of Elections at 919-404-4040 or email them at voter@wake.gov. Accessing your voter registration information will also let you view a sample ballot appropriate for your registered residence address. Under "Sample Ballot(s)" on the 11/7/2023 line, 19-19 voters will see one of these as the ballot style: * "V0008" if the address is in Rolesville * "V0009" if the address is in Wake Forest * "No eligible ballots" if the address is in an unincorporated region; residents there are not eligible to vote in the 11/7/23 election Note that our precinct does not participate in the 10/10/23 election. That's why we all have "No eligible ballots" listed on the 10/10/2023 line, if that line is still shown. Only the 11/7/2023 line matters for Precinct 19-19 voters. See http://jgkhome.name/WakeBOE/19-19.htm for links to access and change your voter registration information. This page also has maps and polling place parking diagrams, links for early voting, absentee voting, and photo ID information, instructions for proper use of the Tabulator, considerations about the Stanford Creek Elementary School polling place, and an iMAPS tutorial. Wake Forest voters: On 9/27/23 the Chamber of Commerce held a forum for the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners candidates. This was recorded for viewing via WFTV 10 or online.
