* *** NEXTDOOR_POSTS_FOR_2024-03-05 TXT - 1 Mar 2024 11:52:19 - JGKNAUTH (Nextdoor post done on 1/17/24 for Precinct 19-19) Information about the 3/5/24 Election ----------- ----- --- ------ -------- If you are seeing this post, it is likely that you are in Wake County Voting Precinct 19-19 or else are very nearby. Although this post is meant for Precinct 19-19, much of it also applies to adjacent precincts. The primary election is now only seven weeks away. Early voting starts on 2/15/24; the closest early voting site is the Northern Regional Center in Wake Forest. Also, you can now request an absentee ballot. Of course the 19-19 polling place at Sanford Creek Elementary School will be open on Election Day, 3/5/24, from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Fortunately this WILL BE a teacher workday, so there will be NO "carpool" lines to contend with. A valid photo ID, e.g., an unexpired NC driver license, is required for the 3/5/24 election. See https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id for details. To verify your eligibility to vote in this election, check your voter registration information, which is very easy to do. Instructions are in http://jgkhome.name/WakeBOE/19-19.htm. The registration information lists the polling place associated with your registered residence address. (That's the address you carefully update with the BOE whenever you move. Right?!!!) In any event, by Election Day you must have lived at your current residence address for 30 or more days to have that address considered to be your residence address for this election. If you have any questions, you can call the Wake County Board of Elections at 919-404-4040 or email them at voter@wake.gov. Accessing your voter registration information (as described above) will also let you view a sample ballot appropriate for your registered residence address. The sample ballots for this election are now available. Under "Sample Ballot(s)" on the 3/5/24 line, 19-19 voters will see the ballot(s) which they are eligible to use. If multiple ballots are listed, the voter must choose only one when actually voting, but all the samples listed can be viewed now. See http://jgkhome.name/WakeBOE/19-19.htm for links to access and change your voter registration information. This page also has maps and polling place parking diagrams, links for early voting, absentee voting, and photo ID information, instructions for proper use of the Tabulator, considerations about the Stanford Creek Elementary School polling place, and an iMAPS tutorial.
