Monday Setup
------ -----

1) POs set up ExpressVote per CJPG.  CJ need not be present.  (Currently
   the only available setup/takedown instructions are in the CJPG; I'll
   make a copy of those pages to give to the POs.)

2) POs do not install the privacy screen, which blocks the panel.

3) [Optional test after ExpressVote setup is done]

   a) CJ opens panel with Black Key, turns on power with Power switch,
      ensures mode switch on right is set to Voter Mode, then closes and
      locks panel.

   b) CJ can leave while system boots.  It takes minutes to complete.

   c) CJ returns after boot completes and opens panel with key.

   d) When "Enter Election Code" is displayed, CJ turns off power with
      Power switch.  (If it got this far, at least the electronics and
      part of the software and configuration data are OK.)

   e) CJ closes and locks panel.

It's OK to leave the ExpressVote plugged in overnight.


Tuesday Opening the Polls

1) CJ opens panel with Black Key, turns on power with Power switch,
   ensures mode switch on right is set to Voter Mode, then closes and
   locks panel.

2) CJ can leave while system boots.  It takes minutes to complete.

3) Someone sets up privacy shield.

4) CJ returns after boot completes.

5) When "Enter Election Code" is displayed, CJ enters the code and
   presses the Accept button on the screen.  See CJPG for cautions
   about entering the code.

6) When "Ready for Voting" screen is displayed, CJ verifies precinct
   and date.

7) CJ presses OK and waits for "To begin voting, insert your card."

8) CJ can now leave.


Tuesday Assisting the Voter
------- --------- --- -----

1) CJ escorts voter to ExpressVote, then reviews information on the back
   of the voter's ballot.

2) CJ instructs the voter to insert the ballot into the ExpressVote.

3) CJ presses Search when "Precinct Selection Search" screen appears.
   (We will have multiple ballot styles -- Wake Forest and Rolesville.)

4) CJ selects appropriate ballot style.

5) CJ verifies data on "Confirm Selection" screen and presses Activate.

6) Voter can start to vote when the first contest appears.

7) CJ may have to stay in the area in case the voter has any problems,
   needs an explanation, etc.  (There is no "how to use" documentation
   for the 2023 election; that's to be corrected for the 2024
   elections.)


Tuesday Closing the Polls

1) CJ checks that "To begin voting, insert your card." is displayed to
   ensure there are no ballots in the ExpressVote.

2) CJ opens panel with Black Key and turns off power with Power switch,
   then closes and locks panel.

3) CJ can leave while system shuts down.  This can take minutes.

4) After shutdown completes, POs can disassemble/repack the ExpressVote
   per the CJPG instructions.
