Overlapped Tape Processing

(CJPG pages 28-29)

Last Updated:   2/26/24  22:38

Pressing "Close Poll" has caused tape #1 to start printing. In the steps below you will be asked to print four more tapes.  For each print, when requested with a start printing tape, do the screen operations listed in the box below.  Each tape may take a minute or two to print.  Meanwhile you can be processing the tape previously printed.

HOW TO START A PRINT

  1. Select "Report Options"
  2. Select "Voting Results"
  3. Select "Print Report"

Here are some editing notes.  Some of these were also made in the marked-up CJPG that I returned.

  1. To simplify the text, I gathered all the detailed "how to print" instructions into one box at the top. The Judges probably need to see it only once, so this reduces some clutter. It is easy to find if they need to see it more than once.
  2. Text corrections/additions are highlighted with cyan.
  3. I didn't highlight all the "When tape #_ finishes printing ..." intros I added nor all the printing instructions at the top of the page, which is new text.
  4. For each "tape", I changed (but did not highlight) the "tape" into a "tape #" to be more specific.
  5. I moved up the "Place the Gold Envelope in the Chief Judge Supply Bag." item to put all the Gold Envelope items together. I didn't highlight the move.
  6. 11/24/23:  I have deleted an item that was in a previous version of this file. I now see the "ExpressVote card" count is listed on all the tapes (e.g., tape #4 hung on the wall), so it is easily available later when the ExpressVote ballots must be separated from the other ballots -- no need to record the count now.
  7. 11/27/23:  Simplified description of tape #5 handling. Also fixed an order problem:  Must close Key Access Panel before closing the Tape Cover. Right? CJPG also has this same problem.
  8.  1/16/24:  Changed spacing to allow main section to print on one page. Changed highlighting for better printing.
  9.  2/26/24:  Added comment to record "Total ExpressVote Cards" from tape #1. Highlighted with cyan
